ACD was founded by Chuck Michie and Darrell Vaughn in July, 1984 and incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas. The company actually began operations in October 1984. In the last few years ACD has grown significantly, and now employs more than 130 people and utilizes over 52,000 square feet of facility space.

ACD supports engineers through its circuit board layout services. In essence, ACD provides each customer’s Engineering Department with a single source extension of their own product development team. By working closely with the customer, ACD takes the engineering output and delivers a ready for production data package.

ACD added prototype PCB soldering and procurement capabilities in early 1999. This department has grown to be a major business segment of ACD and it is currently housed in an area of over 30,000 square feet. In 2003 and 2004 ACD reinvested a substantial amount of money in this area by purchasing the required equipment to become the technology leader for prototypes and low to mid volume production in the Southwest. In 2004 ACD added two Flying Probe testers to expand its current boundary scan and functional test capabilities. During 2006 ACD purchased two Mydata Synergy pick and place lines and moved into its current location.

Cognizant of the demands for quick time-to-market schedules, ACD has closed the gap between development and production through its complete turnkey capabilities.

W. Scott Fillebrown
President/CEO & Stockholder
Scott became a stockholder in January of 1995. He has a total tenure with the company of over 15 years. He graduated from the University of Texas - Dallas in 1989 with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He is currently responsible for the company’s finance, operations and marketing efforts.

Steve Schwaebler
Vice President & Stockholder
Steve joined ACD in April of 1994 bringing with him 16 years of experience with a publicly held design service bureau. He was responsible for opening multiple regional design offices prior to his joining ACD. Mr. Schwaebler handles all design and IT related operations for all ACD locations.

Darrell Vaughn
Now retired from ACD, Mr. Vaughn was a co-founder of ACD and has over 20 years experience in PCB design. Mr. Vaughn graduated from the University of Texas - Austin in 1977 with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a major in accounting. He helped found and was employed at the design firm of ESC in Austin where he and Mr. Michie met.
